Legacy Locker is a new web-based application that is being launched publicly in April 2009. Legacy Locker is a safe, secure repository for your digital property that lets you grant access to online assets for friends and loved ones in the event of death or disability. Think of Legacy Locker as an online safety deposit box. As more and more of our lives are being stored on the web, the question of what happens to my online assets when I die or become disabled becomes more prevalent. Most web-based application companies do not have any policies for passing an account onto a loved one and most will not allow it. Legacy Locker allows you to pass on the account information for your online assets to beneficiaries of your choosing.
Rockbeatspaper partnered with Legacy Locker to help with the design and development of the application and the marketing site. RBP handled all design and front-end coding for the application and marketing site. RBP contracted Code Wranglers to handle the backend development and high-security implementation of the project. The backend development was completed in the Ruby on Rails platform implementing security above that of the banking industry. The Legacy Locker application has received tons of press coverage since the launch of the marketing site in March 2009. The public launch of the application is slated for April 2009.
